Cousins

This last weekend, we had a visit from cousins.  The kids adore Tyler and Kayla, and are always so excited when they visit.  And Cody and Katie came along, too.
On Saturday, we had a few hours to kill.  It was a beautiful day (February + 75 degree weather = San Antonio.) so we decided we needed to be at the park.

This sort of weather is one of the reasons I love San Antonio.  While most of the nation is buried under snow, we are at the park, wishing we were in shorts.  Unfortunately, this week is a different story--Cold and shivery.

While they were here, Maryn and Tyler were doing Mad Libs together, and decided to make up some of their own.  I found one of Maryn's drafts and had a pretty good chuckle over it.

I'm not ready for this.

For the Long Haul

Even though this little guy isn't walking yet, he's pretty mobile, and usually up to something.  One of his favorite toys is his big Tonka Truck.  He loves to climb inside….

…and wait for someone to push him around.

Sometimes it takes a few screams for us to notice him, and that he is patiently waiting for his ride.

Eventually someone shows up.

This little boy is so spoiled!

Teeth

I think this has to be one of my favorite tooth stages.  Maybe because I know that giant, gawky adult teeth are about to grow in, and that means that my little Ailee is growing up.

For a few more weeks, I get to keep her little. And talking with a lisp.

Spaghetti

This boy loves to eat.  That will make any mother happy.  He especially loves…
SPAGHETTI!

Boy One-der

It's amazing how much changes in a year.  A year ago, I held a little boy in my arms for the first time.  He was helpless and snuggly.  Today, he turned one.  He's not helpless anymore…in fact, he's kind of a trouble maker.  Thankfully, he is still snuggly.

I love that he is holding up his finger, telling us he's one.  He has no idea what that is--he just decided that was how he was going to hold his fingers for his pictures.  I'll take it.

We had a little family party for him.  I made him a cute Birthday crown, which he refused to wear.  (except for this picture that I took really really fast before he could rip it off his head.)

Having a stare-down with the candle.

What is it?

Looks kinda fun...

But he's not sure...

Too many presents, and too little time.

He cried because we kept swatting his hand away from the candle.

Still trying to figure this one out.

Maybe it's kinda cool.

It took a while for him to get over the whole candle thing.  He yelled at his candleless cupcake for a bit.  Then he grabbed it to throw it.  It only took a little taste to discover that it was a mint chocolate chip ice cream cupcake, and who doesn't like that?

Yeah, it's pretty good.

We now have peace between boy and cupcake.

Happy First Birthday, Kannon! We love you, and love that you are part of our family!
