So Tired

I was in Kade's car, on my way to the grocery store the other day, when I heard a song on his Beatles cd. I felt, at the time that they were singing specifically to me, so I put the song here, on my blog. Turn up your speakers and have a listen. This version isn't by the Beatles, but by some other wanna-be, but it's close enough.

I have a two week old baby, and this is how I feel.

Leaves are Falling All Around

The fall here has been....AWESOME, to say the least. I can't believe how nice the weather has been. It's almost like we're back in Kentucky. Cool nights, crisp mornings, and warm days. Needless to say, it's much better than last year. We were pretty disappointed by last year's Fall. It was summer one day, then winter the next. We had blizzards before Halloween. Blech. The last two weeks, Maryn was off of school for Fall break. Longest Fall break....ever! Whoever decided that Fall and Spring breaks needed to be 2 weeks long, wasn't 37 weeks pregnant and bound to stay close to home. We had to work a bit to keep the sanity 'round here.
So, one beautiful day, we decided to go out and play in the leaves. Mind you, we only have one little tree in our yard, so our pile was meager, but the girls loved it. Here are a few pictures from our morning:

Some of Maryn:

And some of Ailee, who was more interested in raking than jumping:

(I love the leaves stuck in her hair)

And, I had to include this one because it shows Ailee in her snow boots. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Ailee LOVES shoes. Especially new ones. Maryn was so good to pull these out of Ailee's "not ready to wear" drawer. She wore them all day. Then to bed. Some things just aren't worth the fight.
Now if only I could teach her the Napolean Dynamite dance!

I was looking at some pictures from the past. I came upon some from the Fall from our last year in Kentucky (2 years ago). Raking up the leaves there was a huge chore. It always felt like I had hundreds of piles of leaves like this:
Oh, wait....I did have hundreds of piles. I could easily fill up 20 big bags, probably more. But I gotta say, they sure were fun to play in.
