Park Pictures

A few Saturdays ago, we woke up to a very beautiful morning. The sun was shining, there were just a few clouds, it was nice and warm, so we decided to go on a picnic for lunch. As it goes around here, by the time we got ready, loaded up our picnic basket, grabbed our favorite smoothies, the day had drastically changed. We lost our sun....which in Denver terms means the temperature dropped 20 degrees. Then it got windy. At least the kids were pretty good sports and played for a while.

Here are few pictures from our chilly day at the park:

(This one isn't a big fan of the cold)

(This one gets crazy hair in the wind)

(This one had to wear her new hat....it's pink....like everything else she loves)

You May Be Right....I May Be Crazy!

So, at Hobby Lobby {aka: "the Lobby"} I saw a sign that read, "There's a skinny girl inside of me, but I just keep shutting her up with cookies." or something to that effect. This saying caused me to reflect, and I often think the following to myself, "There's a sane girl inside of me, but I'm keeping her busy with too many projects." I should patent that saying. Maybe I'll cut it out in vinyl and put it on the wall of my craft room.
...I guess that will be one more project, huh?
Aaaaanyhoo. So, remember a few weeks ago, when I posted my tutorial about the duvet cover I made for my bedroom? Well, climbing into bed that night, and the next night, and the night after that....and so on....I decided that I didn't really care for it. I could never really put my finger on why I didn't like it, I just knew I didn't. Perhaps it was it's traumatic birth, or that it made the room feel so dark...or, I dunno. I just didn't like it.
So, I started over.
I am such a snob/crazy/ picky....whatever you want to call it, I won't deny it.
And now, I present to you.....
[Drum Roll]
....My newest creation!!
[Cymbals Crashing]
Ta-Da!
And here's another (more shadowy) picture from the other side of the room:

I must say, I am much more pleased with this one. It was:
A.) much easier
B.) much less expensive

And, I LOVE my pillows. I am totally going to toot my own horn here. Look how great they turned out!!
Cute, huh? It wasn't my idea. Well, I added my own ideas, but I found the tutorial here.
The author of that blog also inspired the idea for ruffles on my big pillows
I'm happy I redid it. I'm sure, that psychologically, there's something wrong with me, but I just couldn't be happy with only kinda liking something I made, and had to sleep under every night. My one regret is the type of material I used. Though it seems thick and durable, Ailee has been good enough to prove that one day it will see death by velcro. I guess that when that day comes, I'll have yet another project to busy that sane girl with.
M'kay, one more picture.

What Are Sisters Good For?

A.) Piggy back rides

B.) Zerburts

(I only wish I'd gotten the camera soon--they had Cora in fits of giggles.)

(And, as another side note, Ailee gives the TICKLIEST zerburts.)

Most days, there is fighting around here, but I love those days when they actually play together.
